I have cable! And Rob's downhill spiral into housing disaster.

It's been almost a year since I had access to cable tv that was beyond the very basic channels. I don't miss the commercials at all though. What I miss is being able to watch the news without digging for it on the internet all the time. I like to vary my sources of news and the news channels are very good at the local level.

Robert will not be moving to Cupertino because the office staff at the apartment he applied to were mindless dicks. After reading their tennants' many negative reviews on ApartmentReviews.com, I realized that it's a good thing he's not moving there. Instead, he's moving to Redwood City where it's cheaper, equally as nice, and the managers treat people with kindness and respect. Now isn't that how people should run their business? I mean, at least the bare minimum? So yeah, I don't recommend renting at the Biltmore Apartments in Cupertino.

So here's the backstory. The Woodland Creek apartments have turned into condos. Rob has to move out by the end of this weekend because the people in the office somehow assumed he would, even though he really has until the 15th. They're really nice people but they tend to make mistakes because they're so eager to sell these condos. They sold his unit while promising the buyer that it would be available to move in on the weekend of the 14th. Stupid move. Since they need a week to clean the apartment, they told Rob that he should move out accordingly. Because they can't evict him, they're offering incentives (that they probably won't follow through on) and has produced an unbelievable amount of stress/pressure to scramble for an apartment.

I can't believe how difficult it is to find a decent apartment in the metro areas of California. I understand why people are migrating north. Maybe that's what I'll do when I graduate even though my heart belongs in Cali. It's just not the same anymore...
