Before I write a post about our engagement weekend, I thought this is much more important to share right now: Gay marriages have just been legalized in the state of California today!! The California Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that domestic partnerships are not a good substitution for marriage and "...our state now recognizes that an individual's capacity to establish a loving and long-term committed relationship with another person and responsibly to care for and raise children does not depend upon the individual's sexual orientation." Well said. Congratulations to all the couples and potential couples for this awesome achievement towards equality. Hats off also to all their supporters and those that struggled with them to get this law passed. I can not describe the joy I'm feeling now but I will say one thing: I my state!
